Learn How to Sing Harmony by Ear

"If you are a frustrated harmony singer, this method will change your life."  Karena J.

"Great method, great teacher: I've already learned more about singing harmony than I have in the last 5 years."
  Ruth C.

"I've been singing and teaching harmony for a long time now, and I must say that these lessons are the best I've come across. They are not overloaded with theory and musical jargon, which makes it easy for the non-musicians to follow. Great choice of songs, too."  Duklon S.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
Tommy D.

Harmony Singing By Ear uses two complementary methods to teach you how to harmonize by ear. After learning some quick music theory basics,  you’ll be walked through how to find the upper and lower harmony parts for eight songs. I sing those same harmonies on music tracks. On these tracks, the vocal parts are mixed to two different speakers or earbuds—pan to one speaker and you’ll hear your part, pan to the middle and hear both parts, or pan to the other speaker to practice with the other part. Singers using headphones or earbuds can just pull one phone or earbud away from one ear for the same effect. In this way, beginning harmonizers can control how much or how little of the other voice or voices they hear, making it easier to stay on their part. If you’re a more confident harmonizer you can sing without the guide vocals. If you just want to learn and sing the harmony parts you can skip the instructional tracks, go right to the music and vocal tracks, and pan your speakers to the right to learn the harmony part for each song. If you want to learn how to find and sing 2-part and 3-part harmonies on your own, listen and sing with all of the tracks in order. My step-by-step method explains the process clearly.

Though much of Harmony Singing By Ear focuses on the how-tos of parallel harmonizing above and below a melody, you’ll also learn about call-response, blue note, chromatic and block chord harmonies. Music tracks without vocals are also included so you can practice your part "without the training wheels". Plus, I included exercises to build your harmonizing skills, as well as advice on how to polish your harmony parts. The songs range in style from pop to R&B to folk to modern rock to jazz.

Skill Level: Beginning to Intermediate. The early songs are very easy, the later songs increase in difficulty.
